Long time lurker, first time poster.

I’m pretty sure I am the first person to post who has built this rifle with a 16.2” factory barrel / flash hider combo, which results in a rifle that is just a smidge over 26”.  Obviously you have to permanently attach the flash hider to the barrel to make it legal but it look great and can be done.

However, I wanted mine a little bit longer so I backed the flash hider off 3/16”.  Then I made a .700” OD  barrel shroud from electrical conduit and secured it with JB weld.  The shroud not only filled in the gap between the crush washer and the shoulder of the barrel, but it also made the front end look better.  Once the JB weld cured I pinned the flash hider and had it TIG welded.  Then I re-installed the barrel and it was exactly 26.25” long.

It’s may not be the easiest way to do this but I love the look:

I work a lot so I may not be able to reply to any posts quickly but I will be glad to answer any questions.

Thanks

The flash hider came on the factory 16.2" barrel and it is sold on a variety of 10/22s.

This particular barrel came from a Talo Edition that came wit a factory installed side folding stock from ATI
