Is this possible/sensible? As far as I know, there is no .300 blk SBR version of the X95, and no .300 blk X95 in left hand configuration regardless of barrel length. But, I figure I can:

  • Start with a left-hand X95 in 5.56
  • Replace the 5.56 barrel with 16" .300 blk barrel, but keep the left hand bolt from the starting gun (??)
  • Cut the barrel down to 13" and thread it
  • Replace the pistol grip, butt pad, and handguard with the parts from a 5.56 SBR conversion kit

Just an FYI, the .300 BO guns have a different top rail, it has the gas system adjustment mechanism in it. The later x95 guns in 5.56 also got that rail along with the 300BO guns as well. I do not believe they made a top rail for the SBR guns with that adjustment mechanism. I am also not sure if there is a slight difference between or different Part number for the 5.56 and .300BO bolts. You may want to ask Sven over at Manticore arms. He’s done a lot of stuff with the x95 and also tests out stuff with/for the guys at IWI.
