They have them avail - but no compliant models - so defeats the purpose

They may might be willing to make it compliant for you.  Just need a fin grip (I suspect any AR one sould work) and remove the Magazine.

Things are looking up!

This afternoon,  FedEx delivered the 16", .223 kit. I placed my order the last week of Sept, 2020. Ok D.T., make me really happy, and send the rest of my MDRx.

I'm happy to report that i now have the lower. 6 days from short of ten months. I put it together with just a few bumps along the way. The mag release took just a second to figure out what it was and where it went. It's raining today so may take a few days before i have time to fire it.

Awilson8,

We must have had our orders in the same batch. I was notified today that my MDRx should hit my local FFL tomorrow. Eleven months for me.

That is fantastic!  Now you are a card carrying member.

By the way, when you get them could you post the first two digits on serial number (should be 4 digits after the 0)?  Mine was new production in September in the 55 range and it would be interesting to know what their annual build rate is.

Some light at the end of the tunnel?  The first of my 2 conversion kits is shipping from DT today - sounds like they really pushing to get the volumes out.  Called and spoke to customer service - exceptionally helpful with updates.  Hoorah!

I'm not entirely sure they're doing them sequentially, mine is an MDRx in the MDR002### range I bought a year ago and I have a buddy with an original MDR bought 2 years ago in the 4### range; that is unless they took mine as an MDR, engraved it with an X, and sent it out cause it hadn't shipped yet.

Hmm, I wonder if they have serial number sub lots allocated to the different calibers they ship with.

The long wait is over. It is in my hand! Picked it up this morning from Master at Arms.

Too windy and hot to test fire, and zero the optic. Tomorrow morning should be fun! This thing is nice. If it is a shooter, I may need to find a new home for the AUG.

My MDRX arrived at my FFL today - about 9.5 months after ordering - have the .223 barrel, awaiting the .308 conversion kit.
