Title: End of 8 months and no MDRX
Post by: awilson8 on July 20, 2021, 04:58:04 PM
Just emailed Desert Tech again it's been 8 months no shipment. Desert Tech has dropped the ball big time. They released a video on you tube saying new order will be 8 to 9 months. They fail to address past order that look like they could go out to a year. Sad to say the least. Yet they run ads wanting new orders daily.

Once again, order from extreme guns and ammo if you are about to give up and cancel your DT order.

Or you can be proactive and start calling them once a week, starting two weeks before your original delivery date for a status.

It will give you updated ETA's and subtly remind them to ship you a product rather than bump you.

Don't forget the assertions on Facebook that they are shipping out orders too. A batch of 16" .308 MDRXs just got shipped out.

May I ask what caliber and length did you go with in your order? If I were you I'd stalk EuroOptic and ScopeList and snap up the chassis and the barrel kit that I want as soon as it becomes available. It's probably where those shipped orders are going to anyway:

Of course they're shipping out orders, Chowwow; most likely to resellers who placed huge orders last year.

 I ordered a FE 308 20 inch in FDE.

I ordered my Compliant FDE 223/308 in FE the end of December - hearing it will hold to the 8 month clock.   I would imagine with the CA market, lots of these will go west as there really are few other semi-auto choices.

When did you order?

I ordered my compliant MDRX in Sept 2020. The barrel was shipped at the beginning of July, and the chassis is coming this week.  “patience is a virtue”

Xtreme guns said they were expecting a 308 shipment mid August (I have a conversion kit on order) which lines up

Just got a barrel and bolt delivered. It was quite the surprize. I didn't get a email or any notice that it was shipping. How long do you think it will be before the the rest of it shows up? has anyone else had this happen?

They have them avail - but no compliant models - so defeats the purpose

They may might be willing to make it compliant for you.  Just need a fin grip (I suspect any AR one sould work) and remove the Magazine.

Things are looking up!

This afternoon,  FedEx delivered the 16", .223 kit. I placed my order the last week of Sept, 2020. Ok D.T., make me really happy, and send the rest of my MDRx.

I'm happy to report that i now have the lower. 6 days from short of ten months. I put it together with just a few bumps along the way. The mag release took just a second to figure out what it was and where it went. It's raining today so may take a few days before i have time to fire it.

Awilson8,

We must have had our orders in the same batch. I was notified today that my MDRx should hit my local FFL tomorrow. Eleven months for me.

That is fantastic!  Now you are a card carrying member.

By the way, when you get them could you post the first two digits on serial number (should be 4 digits after the 0)?  Mine was new production in September in the 55 range and it would be interesting to know what their annual build rate is.

Some light at the end of the tunnel?  The first of my 2 conversion kits is shipping from DT today - sounds like they really pushing to get the volumes out.  Called and spoke to customer service - exceptionally helpful with updates.  Hoorah!

I'm not entirely sure they're doing them sequentially, mine is an MDRx in the MDR002### range I bought a year ago and I have a buddy with an original MDR bought 2 years ago in the 4### range; that is unless they took mine as an MDR, engraved it with an X, and sent it out cause it hadn't shipped yet.

Hmm, I wonder if they have serial number sub lots allocated to the different calibers they ship with.

The long wait is over. It is in my hand! Picked it up this morning from Master at Arms.

Too windy and hot to test fire, and zero the optic. Tomorrow morning should be fun! This thing is nice. If it is a shooter, I may need to find a new home for the AUG.
