20K? Sure, do it then too.

1500 rounds is just the break-in point for a quality rifle like the TAVOR.

There is at least one fella around here who works in exciting places and has shot out or nearly shot out the barrel of a US Tavor - would be interesting to see what the internals of his rifle look like. If such a person ever has spare time to take & post many pictures.

I think there is also a current or former Israeli armorer (private? military?) floating around - but again, don't know that he has time to post pics of the worn rifles he works on.

10k/20k + would be interesting to see for sure.

I'll see what I can do.

Now if someone wants to donate 20k of ammo I will totally step up and burn a barrel out.

But that's more cabbage than I can lay hands on anytime soon.

Yep!  The ONLY downside of Tavor ownership is feeding it!  My range has a NO FMJ rule so its even more because of that.  Not a lot but it does add up.

Thanks for the review.  If you would, I'd like to see something like this at 5k rounds.

Not sure about RCShadow's range but I was told by the manager at my local range the ATF forces (or recommends, can't remember) them to ban FMJ rifle cartridges due the close proximity of nearby infrastructure (e.g. roads, houses,...) and threat of a ricochet.

Mine is about 3k of shots (brass only) and only part I could see a minor wear is bolt, part that is getting inserted into chamber. I am using mil-com TW25b to lube and I clean my Tavor after evry range visit. I changed this green gum looking spring and extractor already.

Great pics!

You need to put together a teardown video for those of us that feel the need to teardown that far but dont know how-to w/o messing things up...

Whats the round count up to now?

I noticed similar wear on my bolt, is it normal?

Just got this from IWI service rep:The wear on the bolt that you're seeing is perfectly normal.  There's a lot of metal-on-metal friction inside the receiver, and polishing and wear like this is normal.  Your particular wear is caused by the bolt rotation bar, which is the metal rod parallel to the recoil rod and spring on your recoil assembly, guiding the bolt.  It's all part of the process.  As long as your rifle keeps running smoothly, you have nothing to worry about.  hope it helps

When I asked him about lubing this area he said:Per the instruction manual, be sure to oil around the bolt lugs.  While Tavors don't like to be run "wet", it won't hurt a keep a light coat of oil on the bolt assembly in that area.

Hope this helps.

Outstanding level of detail Sir! So buy xtrasize https://www.scottmcadams.org/xtrasize-review-results/

Agreed!  Incredibly good pics!  I am a bit surprised at the number of cast pieces vs machined.  Nice job on the post!

That's what I was thinking. I didn't realize there were that many casted parts in there.
