The Tavor looks good. Did I hear they were "building a factory this year" and they hoped to have some available before the elections?

How on earth will that be possible?

Who is going to build it? Charles Daly?

Anyone have any more info?

"Charles Daly" has been working on the Tavor for the US market for many years.  So the project is in the final stages.

It's my understanding that IWI will be establishing manufacturing this year.  What extent of manufacturing is yet to be seen.

So for the "by the election" deadline, the already US manufactured parts and the minimal balance of imported parts will make the first rifles.

The Tavor already contains many US parts, so assembling a US/ATF compliant rifle, with existing parts, and just a few "new" parts, is possible within the stated time-frame.

Time will tell, but it seems all the pieces are coming together!

That's really good news as I have wanted to get my own since my shooting the Tavor. It seems that it is a very good weapon but I am concerned with the MSRP. I have several guys in the MC that have MarSoc time and they like them as well. If they can get available soon, I can get 4-5 to have on stock.

Please keep me advised as to any updated data.

The price for the US rifles hasn't been set yet.

But I'm being told they want to compete.  So with the Canandian rifle retailing for $2500-3000, I'm guessing the basic rifle will be somewhere well below the Canadian price.

I'm planning on having 100 twenty dollar bills ready (give or take a few...)   Wink

I was going to pick 4-5 of the FNH 2000 model, but then I saw it had problems with anything other than Milspec GI Issue mags. I really hope the Tavor can take Pmags, Arc and Lancer mags.... Most of my customers want those 3 types of mags.

I was thinking that to compete, they had better keep it around $ 1999 USD.... $2500-$3000 is asking a lot, even from me and I can find a gun for anyone!

I am really looking forward to this weapon....

They told me MRSP would be $1999. And Yes they want it out before the Election. And most of the parts are manufactured here anyways because of the great relationship the US has with Israel.
After I saw your post and the Video. I wanted better pictures of this Monster.. I can't wait either. The trigger pull is the only thing I didn't like about it. I figured like all things.. It can be fixed.
Thanks Glenn

For a tactical rifle, I didn't have an issue with the trigger.

It felt 6-7 lbs, and broke pretty clean.

I'm very excited about this Tavor 5.56 platform.  Does anyone who talked to them know why they went with a hand guard instead of a trigger guard?  This is a limiter in customization and aftermarket possibilities, as well as leaving the trigger very exposed.  Just curious?

definately STANAG!
So most AR mags will work.  Last discussion with Mr. Kassnar, he said they haven't decided on which mags to buy to go in the box...

no new news.  As I understand, the project is still on track for the fall...

I expect some production-sample "leaks"/reviews in the late spring or early summer...

For those who have fired the Tavor...I viewed an episode of Future Weapons that showed the Tavor and Micro Tavor. I noticed that the full size model seemed to have a great deal of muzzle flip, and/or recoil. Yes, I realize we are only talking about 5.56mm, but the video on FW showed some pretty decent muzzle flip - a lot more than I would have expected. That seems like it would have ruined the ability of quick follow up shots.

Does this weapon really flip more than an AR?  Videos of AUGs seem to show next to no flip at all. I was under the impression that one of the bullpup's pluses was ease of follow up shots.

At this point, as with all weapons, especially with 5.56 62gr., I don't give a flip! The weapons is the point at this point.... man! I'm repeating myself, again.... I want the weapon as is. I think that the availability is the main thing at this point. I have not heard anything from anyone about a date, this year, prior to the election, about getting these puppies into the hands of Americans. That should be something someone is working on

We all need to get this very clear, in my opinion, this weapon, is what needs to be produced and sold this year. I hate vaporware. I hate it when manufacturers say one thing and it comes out 16 months later... Hate it!

Someone from the manufacturer or a rep from IWI needs to get on the forum and tell us whats up....

Welcome to BullpupForum.com!

The AUG has very little to no flip, but I can't speak to the Tavor (yet!)

We do have a few Canadian members that own Tavor's.  And you should visit the BullpupForum channel on youtube (link at the top of each page) for videos in the "favorite" section of quite a few different folks posting vid's of firing the Tavor.
