It's a shame, but I haven't bought anything with the Remington rollmark on it since the turn of the Century, other than two boxes of Golden Sabre ammo because I couldn't find my stash of HST and needed carry ammo.

I hope that if they do get the cash, that it comes with the strings that senior management and decision makers are escorted to the door by security and banned from the property as part of their termination.

Does this surprise anyone?  If you listened to their speeches the other day, there's no way that a high school student could have written them; the use of rhetoric, the word choices, and sentence construction is just too sophisticated.

What were the qualifications of the armed guard.  Was he  complicit in the attack for failure to protect?   Why hasn’t the press been hounding him about his in action or is he protected ?

IIRC, he was a certified LEO.

As for not hounding him, I think that is one of the most responsible things that the press has done in the past 50 years.  This man is probably sitting on the edge of his bead debating whether or not to eat his service weapon.

Press hound basketball players if there parent took money illegally.  Seems that someone who was to protect the children took a protected position.  From Colorado I thought we learn to go after the  assailant as soon as possible to reduce the number killed. Another officer stated he went in as ,soon as he got there to stop the killing, to kill the gunman or be killed. It was reported that four sheriff didn’t go in either immediately.  So we need  accountability not just of gun owners!

The Broward County Sheriff should resign. His department was apparently not trained as first responders and had no clue what the hell the proper protocol was for an active shooter. He should resign and an investigation should be initiated regarding what seemed like an intentional "stand down" response. A possible political motive should also be considered. IMHO

The more I read about Broward County School District, BCSD, and Sheriff Israel, the more I think that they should be charged as accessories to murder for their continual policies and negligence.

If I was a parent or family member of one of the students at Parkland, I would sue the Broward County Sheriff, the Broward County School District, and the FBI for failing to perform their duties and malevolently ignorng violent crimes and the clear warning signs of a mass murderer in the making for the purpose of falsifying reports to make their district look good.

In this, August 2017, news article,

https://www.publicsource.org/these-districts-fought-the-school-to-prison-pipeline-can-pittsburgh-learn-their-lessons/

an executive of the school board had this to say of the policy of the police ignoring these violent crimes and threats to students lives:
Quote
“We’re not compromising school safety. We’re really saving the lives of kids,” said Michaelle Valbrun-Pope, executive director of Student Support Initiatives for Broward County Public Schools.
