I spoke to IWI yesterday. They told me that removing the spring will eventually cause failures to reset. It happened on every Tavor they tested.

They were testing a lighter trigger pack for the US market... did they mention anything about that?

Remove a spring that the engineers designed into the trigger pack. Problems result.

SHOCKING.

Don't do it.

After reading through the thread, I'm surprised no one has attempted to install a light into the factory hand guard. Is this possible? I find the current options (midwest industries) extremely pricey.
I have not taken mine apart but from the pictures I've seen of it removed it looks like enough space to mount a 1 inch light inside. Simply drilling a hole and figuring out some way to secure it internally seems like a viable option. I am no machinist,  or I'd just try this myself. I did read earlier in the thread that an extra hand guard is relatively cheap from IWI, in case it's a failed attempt.

Another question for whoever... I have the IDF version,  does anyone have any experience with the 30ish $ QD rail mount, for mounting your own magnifier? Again, the one made for the IDF seems a bit much at 500$.

I know, I'm cheap.

Thanks.

vwnatas installed a Surefire scout in his with a modified Surefire click-on click off push-button that fit the factory hole. Turned out tits. He removed it when he got his suppressor as it was in the way and precluded him from mounting the can. There are pictures somewhere on the site.

Let me know if you ever want to sell this one.  I would get it anodized in black if you were to sell it to me Smiley.

Thank you!

Hey there,

thanks for the feedback.

Dont worry, once I refine the design, I will make sure to make atleast a small batch available to others.

Anodized type 3 hard black, and if enough interest FDE.

Tavor got a nose job, Phase 5 FatMan Hex Brake. Unfortunately there is no room for the light unless I cut off the Bayonet Lug. Yeah I know, what's the point in keeping it on?
