Before I get flamed..... This one is Tavor is my girlfriends and she wanted to do something different. I have one in FDE but now that I this one I actually really like it. We got the idea from the movie District 9. now all we need is the 9mm conversion and this thing is GTG....

thats pretty darn cool looking!

My new Tavor and a trip to the range to see how they all compare.  It was a great day, and the range actually had ammo!!!  The Tavor is great.  Ran 3 to 4 mags through it.  Cycled flawlessly.  I am really glad I got her.  For those that are still waiting you are in for a treat!!

you guys have got some wonderful Tavors in this thread, congrats to all.

I was hoping to get one, but I'm a little late. Everywhere I've called is backordered on them. What seems to be the most popular model and barrel length so that I can avoid that one and maybe give myself a better chance and getting called up on a waiting list, even though I'm sure they're all almost equally as popular.

Thanks for info Smiley congrats again.
Shocked

Go to {Guns America} auction sight !!!!
Try any auction.
They have tons of them available to bid on - RIGHT NOW !!!!
I got mine for $1,750.00 + 3% for credit card + $40.00 to my dealer for receiving it.

I just bought this on Wednesday.  Sights are Troy Battlesights.  They are only temporary.  I am trying to decide on a red dot.

It's an "AR-57" upper.  Very cool, I just wish 5.7x28 wasn't so hard to find and expensive otherwise I'd consider it.

In case you are interested, Natchez Shooters Supply has FN 5.7 ammo in stock right now with a limit of 5 boxes per day at 29.99/box.  Considering everything, that isn't too bad.  I picked up 5 boxes last night and will do the same today.  5 Boxes = $149.95 + shipping and no taxes.

Yep, AR57 upper and it spits them out the magwell. I have been told that an empty 30 round mag will hold 50 shells from the upper. Smiley Haven't tried it yet as I heven't wanted to sacrifice a mag for it...seeing as I cannot get any more here in Colorado currently.

I still have a good local supplier for ammo. $24 a box at my local shooting range. I tend to shoot about a box each time I go and I usually buy 2 when I leave.

I updated my PS90. Here is my Calico 9mm, the PS90 with an extended sight rail with the laser under it, and my AR with the shrike upper.

Thought I'd show some pics of my Tavor after trying some options for optics and grips.  So far I'm really liking these and intend to stick with them for awhile and get in some more testing.  To keep this a picture thread, if you want more info about the items shown/described, let me know and I can start another thread to discuss.

This shows the two areas I've been working with.  I'm also using a Magpul MS4 Dual QD sling which I really like so far.

I'm using the Primary Arms 3x fixed optic as my primary (my eyes are bad at even 25 yards).  I like this but also wanted a basic red dot for both-eyes-open up close work so put my Primary Arms T-1 clone on here as well in an offset mount.  With practice this works well for me.

I'm using this grip set up which I find gives me the best control and puts my hand and arm in the most comfortable position (better than just the vertical grip by itself).  It puts my thumb in good position to use the button should I choose to use it to activate something like a light.

For those interested, weights of the items added.
Front grip group (rail, VFG, finger grip):  112 grams / 3.95 oz / .246 lb
Both optics with mounts:  593 grams / 20.9 oz / 1.286 lb

Here is my set up on my Tavor. I have the same set up on all my other AR's. That way everything is consistent no matter which one I am shooting.
Eotech EXPS 3,  Eotech g33 magnifier, Dueck Defense Rapid Transition Sights with Trijicon, RJ F suppressor flash hider,  RJF titanium suppressor and Crimson Trace MVF 515 fore grip with light and green laser.

Second picture is without the suppressor.

You need to reduce the size of your pictures.

You need to reduce the size of your pictures.

It's kind of funny you say that.  Because a lot of pictures on here are tiny thumbnails that when you click them they are 7mb have have a resolution of 3500x3500.  While mine is only 1200x900.

Also, you quoted my picture, making your complaint worse. Sad

the thumbnail going giant is why I don't do it that way. I upload to photobucket and while still large, you can see the whole thing on the screen at once.

I don't know if Sgt_P can have the site automatically resize uploaded pics or not so the thumbnails are a decent size. It may be up to us to resize everything first which is a PITA sometimes.
