I own two Hi-Standard 10-B shotguns, one with a Choate magazine extension.  Theone without the mag extension has a cartridge lifter whose forward edge is so sharp I have to be careful loading it or I shave off part of a thumbnail when I withdraw my thumb after inserting a shell into the magazine.  Is there anything I might do to dull that edge?  I am not a gunsmith and I don't want to sand or grind it and wind up affecting its performance lifting the cartridges into the chamber.  Any suggestions? Thanks.
