This will be my first semi-auto rifle and am swaying between the cheaper 5.56 SAR or updated T7, and the M17S has gotten my attention a little as well. That said, I haven't trained or gotten familiar with an AR or AK so I'm coming into this as a pretty clean slate, so I'm hoping that helps me.

What do you wish you had known or tried before buying?

Just how much I would like a long barrel in such a short package.
Just how much fun it would be to shoot.
Yup...that covers it pretty much.

I wish I would have known that I would not like the Tavor before buying it. Would have saved me some money...

For $500, I'll gladly make your problem become my problem 🤣

What don't you like? I do want to try to get around a shoot a few different rentals but everything on paper says that's the one I want.

I've thought about the 18" compliance barrel, but it doesn't come on the ODG and its pinned so its a bigger pain to install a better muzzle brake, it'd also be sweet to have the Canadian 20" as an option. I have to wonder where the 7 would be today for parts/upgrades without the last 6 months of BS.
