I'd like to add a smaller light to the T7 and I've been going back-n-forth on a couple set ups for a Surefire M300C.

First I was leaning toward mounting a Unity Tactical Hot Button (M-Lok) on the left side of the handguard and mating it with the Surefire on the right side of the handguard. It's just that I really don't like the idea of running a wire at all, let alone to the other side of rifle.

Now I'm kinda leaning toward mounting an Arisaka inline mount on the left side of the handguard and mounting the Surefire directly to it. This is the same basic set up as I do with a Benelli M4.

For those with a Tavor 7, what tac light set up are you running or plan to run.....both light and mount?

I wasn't even aware that Surefire model existed. It looks like it has an integrated M-Lok mount and/or rail mount. It looks like a nice design. My concern would be that the rear end of the light might be to far rearward for my left thumb to comfortably push the tail cap button. That's why I was consider the Arisaka mount, as it sets the light a little more forward. Impact Weapon Components makes a similar one. Magpul makes something similar which appears to be for rail mount and maybe M-LOK mount of a light, but it's not as low profile. When you get your light installed, please let me/us know how it works out.

My plan is either flop down from the top rail for more forward position
Or flop up from the mlok.
Like you said depends on how reachable the button is.
This is the 1 battery version so a bit shorter.

Yeah, it sucks not being able to try this stuff out before you buy it.  I hate returning stuff.

Thorntail2 with Streamlight Protac. So far it's been nice. I like the m300, but my wallet seems to prefer the pro-tac. I will enjoy getting to see how this light stands up to use on a 308.

I use a Viking Tactical mount for my light. I use the trigger guard as my grip when shooting Tavors, so an easy reach for me.

Running Speedlight on Arisaka inline mount that puts tail cap in optimal spot for left thumb activation.

Cool....Thanks for all the feed back, especially those that posted pics.

I went ahead and ordered the Arisaka Inline MLOK. I'll definitely have to mount it to the front MLOK cut out due to my long fingers. Hopefully I can find a deal on the Surefire M300C this coming Memorial Day. I'm not writing off the Streamlight Protac Railmont 1 mini light, I just prefer the Surefire.

One downside to using the MLOK slots for mounting a light is having the lens in the muzzle brake blast zone as the MLOK slots are practically in the middle of the bore axis. The carbon residue builds up quickly but is easily cleaned from a poly-carbonate lens. Also the rubber lens caps burn up in little time. I often remove my light when going for extended range time or for courses, other than low light training.
The Speedlight I'm running is a short, 3V unit from Fab Defense that is rugged and inexpensive. Longer lights would definitely be more directly in the muzzle blast.

Yeah...I can see that happening. I just noticed that your T7 appears to be sporting a PWS brake, which has slightly rearward angled side ports. That probably makes it worse. I will be swapping out the factory T7 brake for an OSS flash hider.

FSC30 brake really does tame the recoil impulse with that venting geometry and makes no friends with adjacent shooters.
I did have the light high 11 O'clock on a Magpul mount but it obstructed my field of view downrange just slightly. There are pictures of it in the T7 picture thread below. You may like that configuration. The Magpul mount worked perfectly on my X95 but not optimal on the T7 for me.

Here is a couple of pics the M340C mounted using the MLOK slot.

Rail mount was ok but would require moving my front sight back a couple of slots.

Thanks for the pics. It looks like I definitely need the light to sit a tad bit more forward, as I have long thumbs.

It looks like you're running an OSS QD Brake. How is your T7 liking the OSS can? If they would ever ship my FH, I could mount my can.

You might have been ok, it is a bit of a stretch to reach the button for me.
Attaching the rail mount pics, which moves it a bit forward.

Regarding the OSS, I just got the stamp last week and the 100yd lanes were down last weekend so not got to try mine yet. I got about an hour with someone elseís can a year ago, so I canít say I got a lot of experience, but it worked well.

BTW that is the Comp-QD762.
Copper Custom have them in stock. https://coppercustom.com/oss-comp-qd-762-comp-qd-762

I like the Surefire Scout M600 DF weapon light with the click on/off tail light switch. 1,500 lumens and uses the superior rechargeable Lithium 18650 battery.

With the light mounted on the bottom rail, I'm trying to figure out how you are accessing the tail cap button...Huh?
