I agree if I can get subs to work reliably I will have another huge bonus feature in a compact package I would love to be able to sell my 300 blackout 😀

I'm guessing this is a 300blk project then? That's awesome, what sort of barrel length are you working on? And what sort of pricing do you think these will go for?

No it's a 18" 308 BSF barrel. I'm betting that he wants this over 300blackout because 308 subs can get heavier bullets.

exactly what I am aiming for I'm ordering some 230 and 240g and with a 1-10 it should be perfect with some trail blazer

I assume its because you are shooting an MDR, I was shooting that load from a bolt gun. I would expect a semi-auto with a ported barrel to take a little more gas pressure for the same speed. Perhaps someone with more knowledge could elaborate.

and it's a shorter barrel my 18in bolt gun will shoot them above subsonic so you most likely are correct on useing more gas

Here is the latest plug I am working with for the subsonic ammo i made it to have as little cavity so It starts moving the piston as fast as possible when the pressure is still high  I put a minor concave like a piston head so I can get equal pressure on the piston I will let you all know how it goes
