I was looking at the Magpul - PMAG D-50 that has 50 rounds of 7.62x51/.308.  I'm not sure that it is a good idea for the T7.  The angle is forward and the spring housing is further forward still.  I think it would be too confining with the pistol grip and would interfere with shooting.

I believe a better option is the standard 20 round or 25 round mags with spare loaded mags.  These are reliable and can be trusted with no interference with the pistol grip and shooting.  I haven't heard of any reports of reliability, good or bad, with the D-50 mag so the trust is not there.  Not to mention that a fully loaded mag adds about 5 pounds to the rifle.

Your thoughts?

Great novelty item. I have been told that it will fit & function with this comment, "D50 drum works with this gun but makes the grip a little weird". (that was from Adam Litke who I believe shoots for IWI).

That's what I thought.  The idea of 50 rounds is nice but you don't want to change your grip in a stressful situation.   It can lead to problems and slow you down.  And, you can but 8 or 9 20 round Pmags for that price.

Never been a fan of drum mags...there is truly no point unless you got a registered sear weapon and want to make a dedicate squad automatic rifle...

No good for bullpups. Best suited to an AR with a bipod.

Fitted a D60 in my X95 and it felt very awkward reaching around the drum to grip the pistol grip.  More than a “little weird” to me, so I didn’t even bother trying it with the 7.  Agree that drum mags and bullpups just don’t mix.

I just ordered a Tavor 7 from Classic Arms on sale and will see how well my MagPul D50 and X Products X25 drums fit and feel when it comes in. The X Products X15 50rd 5.56 drum and the MagPul D60 drum feel just fine in my Steyr Aug with Nato stock.

Picked up my Tavor 7 today, in spite of the county wide shelter in place order. FFL dealer was open and I was able to get in and out in 5 minutes, most of which was completing the form 4473. I had a Tavor SAR about 5 years ago in 5.56 that I absolutely hated because of the skinny trigger with heavy 10 lb pull and the top rail that was way too low to get a good cheek weld. This Tavor 7, however, is a vast improvement with a lighter trigger pull and wider trigger. Also, the top rail is perfect.

I put the MagPul D50 drum in and it was OK. I could comfortably carry, hold, and aim the Tavor 7 with the D50 attached. It did not get in the way. I then tried my X Products X25 50rd drum magazine and as I expected, it was more comfortable to hold, carry, and manipulate the Tavor 7 than was the MagPul D50 because the D50 is slightly larger.
