never considered the M17S until now

A lot of us on BPF feel this way now after the total failure of the MDR and the less than desirable accuracy reported by the manufacture of the T7.

Looking at the first T7 videos shared on FB group....it shoots soft and mild...it was a 3-gun match...so no accuracy report yet...

Looks like cheap ammo works right out of the gate.... not worthy

Hey guys I got the go ahead to start posting videos/photos of the Tavor 7. A quick overview video will land tomorrow as I still have a few tweaks I would like to make to it. For now check out the photos below. Videos will be uploaded soon.

Right now I am about 150-200 rounds in on the gun. First impressions are that it shoots very flat, extremely easy to convert right to left hand or vice versa, HK style bolt lock makes you feel like a badass, D50 drum works with this gun but makes the grip a little weird, gas adjustments are super easy and work using a spent or live 308 casing/round, the trigger is very nice out of the box, and the 45 degree throw safety is of huge benefit to the gun. More to follow.

All but 10 rounds have been using Perfecta Ammo (yah the cheap $0.50 a round reloadable brass ammo. I have some other stuff on the way to try and see how it likes it)

I'll add that if real world testing only musters 3-4" groups with M80 ball...I am probably out...that would be twice the specification of that round...

Pretty sure that the IWI LE/MIL discount program also extends to Veterans.  Might want to contact them to find out how that works.  I am guessing that they'll need to see a copy of your DD-214 or some proof from the VA.

QT/PO does require proof and some paperwork, but theyíre legit. If youíre any form of LEO, itís worth it.

Itís been a couple years since Iíve ordered from them and theyíve recently bumped their prices across the board - policies might have changed as well. Your best bet is to call and see what they require.

Also better than 2.3 MOA reported with PPU ball...IWI might be sandbagging their 2.3 MOA claim.

Adam Sasa claimed, which was backed by Jeremy from IWI, that he got around 1.5 MOA with ball the other day and slightly better than that with match ammo. They stated that the 2.3 MOA claim pertained to the average of '100 guns' with different ammo and shooters. I think they also said that another shooter with him that day achieved similar.

So on the one hand, I appreciate the honesty coming out of IWI about reporting the average accuracy. I also appreciate that they delayed the release over a year to try and make it better- but I'm a bit confused as to why they would worry so much about accuracy when the data is suggesting that with the right ammo and shooter the gun is indeed around 1.5 MOA or possibly even better.

Is this unacceptable to anybody? Because that's where I'm a bit lost. They're acting like the stuff Adam is reporting "isn't where we would like it" and that its not "around 1.5 MOA".

Did they mean consistently 1.5 MOA with all sorts of rounds? Perhaps the T7 is overly picky about what it shoots? Or it has flyers?

</= 2moa with M80 ball is A+. And honestly with M80 im ok with 2-2.5 moa.  Where most people went WTF IWI is when they said 2.3 moa with MATCH ammo. Any modern 308 thats not a LMG should shoot better than 2 moa with match ammo all day every day. That being said maybe their 1:12 twist barrels will shoot lights out, but they shoot lights out with light bullets, not heavy long range high BC bullets. But hey if I can buy cheap 145-155 bullets and load em up and they group good well then tgat 145-155 grain gets me to my 600yd requirement pretty easy for my area

So am I reading this right. Their guy comes out and says 2.33 MOA. Then another guy said it was an average of 100 guys shooting 100 different rifles and and now 1.5 MOA is the buzz?

Yikes, give me the videos already! I was out after hearing the 2.33 and actually ordered another rifle. so now I am going to either put that on hold or cancel it until the dust and rumors get settled.
