I would like to mount an RMR (Vortex Venom 3moa) to the stock offset foreword picatinny rail of my Tavor SAR.
For me, the location seems to be just right when canting rifle to the left.  And Itís much closer to bore axis than if mounted traditionally to an offset from the top rail.
Is this forward rail a proper mounting location for such an optic?
Is the foundation solid enough?  Would the optic hold zero?
Please chime in if you know or have had experience with this configuration.
Thanks

OEM one from IWI isn't solid enough and can move in the slot. I think Midwest Industries makes a replacement that is secured better and may work. I removed them in my two to have a streamlined sleek fore-end.
