I was really looking forward to a lighter AUG variant with a shorter LOP and the possibility of future accessories that could mount in place of an under barrel launcher.

By now, I'm just sour on it.

Plus I was hoping they might introduced one in something other than 5.56, especially 300 blk, and that this would give them a niche to use. Now it looks like Steyr will beat them to market with that.

They screwed up.

I wouldn't give Steyr too much credit for moving quickly.  I'll believe it when I have a 300BO barrel in my hands...LOL!

At this point, I'd believe Steyr will get the Blackout barrels to use before the Atrax gets to the US market. Sounds like it is dead in the water.

tsh77769 - Yeah, I don't think there was even a mention of the ATRAX at SHOT. Maybe something at the NRA show; but at this point it would be better to forget about it

I wouldn’t say I’m disappointed in ATRAX at all. They are right about where I expected them to be now after talking to them at the 2014 NRA Annual Meetings.

When telling me all the things they had to do yet, they sounded a bit too positive.  Even I knew it would be a hell of a feat if they had any guns out in a reasonable time, but they acted like it was no sweat.    Whether they were naive or full of crap, I don’t know.  I suppose the result is the same- no guns after five years.

That pre-order is a joke. It takes you info to show interest, nothing more.

The upper was the “firearm” and serialized part, in my opinion it was DOA from the get go. I really like the features it offers, and wish the lower was the firearm though. Would have easily gone with the ATRAX if the serialization was flipped.

I sent an email to Lithgow arms regarding their plan of action concerning the Atrax. This is their reply:

Sir,

We’re are currently working with key US stakeholders to explore opportunities for the import and industrialisation of the F90 MBR, the preferred choice of US customers over the standard F90.

Kind regards,

wulkure - Thanks for the info.

While it is true many in the US would prefer the MBR, I'm sure they prefer any ATRAX that is released.

Furthermore as far as I've seen the MBR hasn't been adopted by anybody; at least the standard is being currently manufactured so at least it has one user.

I personally prefer the Atrax configuration  and I sent an email to Steven Brown asking him if there is a possibility of interchangeability of stocks a la Steyr standard to Nato stock, but I have not heard anything from him.

wulkure - Hopefully you get the answer; it would be awesome if could switch between the two.

While personally I would prefer the MBR, the standard's aesthetics are about 110% better
