My AUG 9mm flash hider doesn't seem to fit my AUG 9mm barrel.  There's approximately a 1/2" gap from the base of the flash hider to the shoulder on the barrel.  That doesn't seem quite right.  What am I missing here?

A check nut. Steyr loves to use check nuts.

Thanks for the info.  I've never heard that.  Any pictures of one?  Anywhere to get one?

Not for your 9mm, but the image shows flash hiders and their check nuts that lock them in place.

Thank you for the picture.  Does anyone have any picture of exactly how an AUG 9mm flash hider is locked onto a 9mm barrel?

I have the same problem. I've also asked Steyr repeatedly to order me the correct check nut. Here we are 1.5 years later and no check nut yet.

If I had the part number I'd let you know, but no luck.

There's a 9mm flash hider and 9mm compensator. I have both and no check nut.  Lips Sealed

The picture shows the check nut up against the gasblock. The compensator wrench flat is way up near the opening, but the actual device extends pretty far back as you can see.
