What can happen if you run steel case ammunition in the Aug?

Some AUGs will choke on steel, mine does not but I only ran 2 mags just to confirm it would cycle.  They issue with steel case ammo to me is that it comes from the same factorys that historically have used corrosive components in their ammo. That mostly 762x39 and 545x39 and if you take the necessary precautions after its a non issue.  But anything steel case labeled nom corrosive should be treated as corrosive.

Then theres the whole steel case will kill a barrel shenanigans which depending on who you ask and whos proof you believe can be proved and disproved 10 times over.  Steel case doesn't bother me too much but Ive stacked brass case for $250/1000 when its cheap, why bother with inferior steel case with less stringent QC over 2 cents a bullet

Nice, Jonathanwild....thanks for posting!

I recently bought the suppressed gas plug for my AUG.  But, didn't come with any directions.  Got any insight?

Thanks again for sharing the videos.  Motivates me to get around to trying mine out with the new plug.

It works like the other plug however I believe the setting are the following

GR setting is the suppressed setting
Adverse is the single shoot setting I think, Iíd have to double check

Try it out, itís definitely fun to shoot suppressed

Iíll be doing an over view of the rifle on my YouTube channel

Absolutely zero reason why the AUG shouldn't run steel cased ammo and no- the primers aren't corrosive.

I've shot a lot  (multiple cases) of actual corrosive Yugo M67 in 7.62x39. Here on the wet side of Oregon if I don't clean with water and oil I've seen rust in under 45 minutes after shooting.

I've also shot several thousand rounds of Russian 556 and never seen any rusting. My AUG does work with Tula, but needs to have the gas set to adverse to get the bolt to lock back when the mag is empty.

Jonathan....

Obscure question...on the last image...there is something white in front of the front sling swivel, where the receiver rolls around over the barrel.  What is that, tape?  Just curious.
