Hey all, forgive me as I'm new to the gunsmithing game. I'm looking to get my 16" barrel cut down to around 14" and rethreaded to 1/2x28. I'm not a fan of the ratworx adapter as it adds a lot of length to my barrel. I also want my dead air key mount muzzle brake permanently attached (not sure if that's called pinning or welding, idk). If the brake is permanently attached, should I expect the brake to be timed correctly?

Thanks for your advice, I'm trying to present this project to a gunsmith without sounding like a total idiot.

This company has done more than a few AUGs and most other platforms. They are a well respected company. Good luck!
