Bought a fake suppressor to fit X95 but not sure if X95 I purchased from private party has muzzle extension welded or not. Can any folks tell looking at this pic but looks screwed in. Thanks! Btw in Cali we can't have semi refile under 30 inches. I purchased Gemtech fake suppressor(real is illegal here) and want to know from pic if I can just unscrew and replace. Thanks in advance.

Hard to tell from the picture, but I don't see where it is pinned. You may have to have it pinned to make it Cali legal.

Not welded or pinned and was able to swap out. Saw other CA models and luckily mine still had a locking nut and was able to unscrew. OAL is still 30 inches +

You are aware that the fake "can" must be pinned and welded to be legal now, right?

That was another question I posted in another forum which I was going to ask here as well as a follow up. Some peeps say wjth new updates one doesn’t need to anymore and only applied during AW registration but still not sure. My x95 was bought very recently from reputable CA shop then PPT by buyer weeks after at the same shop.

I actually removed this since it was unbearably gassy. Replaced with birdcage type muzzle but again able to swap it out since sold new this way with locking nut.

You need to look at the law.

Prior to the new changes in 2016, the muzzle device didn't need to be pinned and welded to make the 30" length. Now they do need to be pinned and welded. Regardless of how it was sold when new, you'll need to weld that muzzle device on there.

Also, if you have a 16.5" barrel and a standard bird cage muzzle device, your X95 is too short. This is why IWI sells a 4" muzzle brake. That's what I have and it works great.
