My biggest reserve is, what will it do better than the Steyr AUG?

It's an updated steyr AUG. Better ergo and good for people that are lefty.
Also, it might night be atrax fault. It could be the US. Or politics bs

Why draw a line? Either the rifle is a good design with features you like, or it isn't, time has very little to do with that.

Why even wait? After the MDR debacle, no unreleased gun lives rent free in my head.

If it's out and it works I'll buy one, till then I'll be buying more AUG's.

I think the problem with "release"  they are having is with BATF.

Talking with a good ATF friend of mine it's very unlikely BATF will approve the Atrax with the bolt carrier being the registered part and not the actual receiver and barrel.

I'm sure if the receiver being plastic but had a metal plate like the Glocks and others with a serial number it probably would already be out in the market.

The Steyr bolt carrier and the Atrax bolt carrier look almost alike.

I could be wrong but I don't see BATF approving it that way.

I think setting a deadline for a company to release something when that approval is not under their control is sort of dumb.

Fixed that for ya.  Cheesy

If only someone would ever release AUG receivers for individual purchase, I'd be all over at least one of 'em.
Still curious on the Atrax, but after living (and receiving one, in hand) the MDR 'fun,' I can wait a bit longer on it.

And it'll hurt their marketing if they cannot convince the BATF to approve it that way.
Suddenly you're stuck with whatever barrel length and caliber you purchase. No practical way for the end user to pull and swap the barrel from the plastic receiver.

If they fail to get approval for a serialized BCG, I would think it would behoove them to attempt to get a serialized stock approved.

Lol maybe they can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get a serialized trigger pack approved. Think along the lines of the SIG P320.
