Does anyone know if the House version included attachment of HR 4477? I am concerned the left is going to try and sneak this in when it reaches the Senate.

I glanced through it, legal speak is pretty much Greek to me, does anyone care to highlight the issues with the HR4477 bill that was tagged on?

In short, HR4477 provides additional law that government agencies must properly report the list of individuals who can't own a firearm under current laws to the NICS (national background check). This should prevent situations like the Texas shooter; people who can't legally own a firearm from being able to pass a background check.

I'm not sure why people don't like HR4477. It may be assumed that HR4477 adds additional categories or expands the definitions for who cannot own a firearm. In a sense, it does consolidate power between federal beauracracies.

Here's an article summarizing HR4477:

Don't listen to the chicken littles that are screaming that the sky is falling.  Read the legislation and make your own choice.  While I agree that we should have Constitutional carry, I will take a victory wherever I can get one.  There's a lot of hype about this legislation when it pretty much tells people to do their job with regards to reporting.

Not only the "Elephants," but, the "Rhino's" that are hiding in their midst and screwing up all the legislation they are trying to get passed. Republican's hold a razor thin majority and even then they have so-called Republicans like McConnell, Murkowski, Collins, McCain, Corker, and several others who are not strict constitutionalists and are part of that "Swamp" that President Trump has been trying to drain. Until the Republicans can get rid of them and get a stronger "majority," the democrats will be posturing for the 2018 elections to win back that razor thin majority the Republicans currently hold. Republicans just lost one senate seat in the Alabama race to a democrat.   Angry  Now the Republicans only hold a one vote majority.
