Are you sure this email is Josh from Lithgow and not Nick Young over at Desert Tech?

I can't wait to get one of these, I was in on the GB for the MDR, but after years of waiting I had to throw in the towel.
This will surely put a smile back on my face.

Dasan is just a firearms part maker.

"One interesting thing Dasan showed was Thales Australia’s F90 rifle. Dasan made a contract with Thales and will soon be manufacturing this rifle, under license, in Korea. Dasan will be suggesting this rifle to Korean military, which is now considering replacement of the K1 and K2 rifles, which have been used since the early to mid-1980s and many of them now need replacement. Unlike the K1/K2 rifles, which basically are made with 1970~80s design concept, the F90 is a modern bullpup, so in terms of modernity this clearly has an edge. Nobody can be sure of how this can work with the considerably conservative ROK forces, but the very fact there’s a Korean competitor to S&T Motiv alone can be a very interesting factor in the Korean arms procurement scene."

Now, this may just be for the Korean military contract, but DASAN would be alogical partner for Thales in the US. It would also explain why the F90 is displayed at the DASAN booth, and the pitch guy doesn't have an Austrlian accent.

I went to the DASAN booth today, and I confirmed that the Atrax will be made by DASAN in Georgia, through a mix of US, South Korean, and Australian parts.

They are hoping 2nd quarter 2018 release, and are considering producing the "Export" AR mag version in the future.

Only thing odd was that the F90's on display didn't have the integral shell deflector built into the stock the way the Austalian F90 does, hopefully the finalized version will incorporate that.

"ATRAX by DASAN USA"
https://atraxrifle.com

The features still show the deflector - but it also says "The ATRAX is scheduled to hit dealer shelves Fall 2017."

Glad to help. I was there at 5pm and they were closing up, I'll try and stop by tomorrow and get some more info.

Really, it's a AUG that is 10oz lighter. With the rails available from Corvus now, I'd say the AUG makes more sense, at least until the F90 Export version is imported.

Stopped by again today, not much more info to add.

One thing I did notice is the F90 has a pretty nice trigger. At least the one I tried, it's a true single stage with almost no creep - just a hard ~7lb wall and then a crisp break, with very little total travel.

I think the case deflector is a snap-in design, but not certain. You can see the shelf and the notches at the rear portion of the ejection port. Hopefully it will be included with the rifles and not a separate add-on.

Thanks for the pictures and updates. I'm kinda disappointed they're using a plain A2 flash hider. I was hoping for the Aussie tulip style, but I know its 922 BS. Another takeaway is that it appears they'll be using the bolt carrier as the serialized part.

Good morning, all.

I received an e-mail last night from Josh Whi of Lithgow.  All seems in good order.  The Atrax is still on schedule for September delivery with an MSRP of $1999, and he has my name on the pre-order list.

I wish I had more to share, but, at the very least, we know the Atrax is still slated to make its debut in September.

Take care, and have a great day.

I wonder if the Atrax trigger pack is compatible with the AUG? It was definitely crisper then the AUG trigger pack.

Just spoke with Jan at Brownells. First or second week of April this year is their tentative receiving date. I am stoked!
