I don't find mine glossy at all. It's a nice finish. Smooth, but it has a texture to it. It's hard to describe. Mine slid right on also. Once I tightened it all up, it's rock solid. No movement at all. If I ever buy another RDB, I'll also buy another Raptor Rail.
Glad you like it!

Love mine, you guys did a great job with it. It definitely offers up better accuracy.
I would ask though, would you be able to make it so the screws on the side of the receiver screw down thru the hand guard too. This would really stiffen the barrel up= better accura.

This weighs one pound exactly?

What is the weight of the original handguard unit?

The Raptor Rail,With the All Mounting stuff used, is somewhere around 7 oz.
The Original Keltec Rail is Just under 10 oz...
..From my scale that is..

Mentioned Earlier in this thread..Without the front reinforcement piece 5.5 oz.

Please adjust your tolerance on your QD holes to allow for the powder coating.  The thickness of the powder coating changes the ID to not accommodate a QD sling adapter.

Got my 2nd batch powder coat rail today and though Iíd share some photos showing the differences with the one shown earlier in this thread.

Most obvious visual difference is that rear of the bottom rail has the QD hole deleted and is extended to cover the area over the trigger guard.  Also, all of the screws are (loosely) mounted, so you donít have to worry about what goes where.  The Allen screw for the bottom of the front rail mount block is included.  What you see is exactly how mine came.

No problems installing the aluminum cross pin through the gas block and the ears on the front rail mounting block.  Slid right in with no need for a punch (maybe the holes were made bigger?).  Because the cross pin slid in by hand, installation was quick and easy, and everything is tight.

Overall, Iím very impressed with the rail!
