I read a concern about the barrel threads of the IWI X95 barrel for attaching a suppressor not having a thread shoulder (TTAG).

What does this really mean?
Did IWI miss the mark?  Or is this not something that needs concern?

It's the same issue the SCAR 17 has. GemTech makes a thread shoulder for this that bottoms on the muzzle. You then thread to that. Others use the jam nut, but you must check concentricity often.

The Scar adapter  by Gemtech works great (5/8 x 24). This is on my X95 300 BLK with a Gemtech HVT. You'll be quite satisfied taking this route.

What reason would IWI have for not doing a shoulder for the barrel threads?

It's unfortunate, but it's how some foreign companies do it. FN is a prime example. AKs are the same but they use the front sight block to bottom on. I think they just had it in mind to use the indexing nut.

Does the indexing nut add much weight?
Does it require much skill to align or install?

Negligible weight and no skill required on the indexing nut. You just have to check concentricity of the barrel. Use a rod about the same size as the bore and push it through. It it hits the suppressor, it's not concentric. Move it and try again until it is with the GemTech SCAR Adaptor, you bottom it out and the add the shims and muzzle device or what not.

You should make that picture bigger.

Seriously, go with the SCAR adapter from Gemtech- you will be be done with concentricity issues, checking alighnment, hassling over it, etc., and can just go out and enjoy shooting it suppressed. Weight should be negligible in either scenario. Do it once and be done with it!

My SilCo Omega 300 just in and mounting on my X95 300AAC barrel. The IWI flash hider butts against a jam nut. I've taken both off and degreased well.

I'll be adding the SilCo Omega 300 ARS Muzzle Brake that mates with the ARS insert on the suppressor body for the simple twist and lock attachment.

Is there any reason why I couldn't mount that ARS Muzzle Brake with the same jam nut IWI used with their flash hider?
