I just saw that too! Very cool!!!

Some interesting details, it looks to be a cross between a TAR and X95. Thin buttpad, interchangeable grip, magazine release in front of the trigger and possibly a charging handle lock back MP5 style. Not sure what that large block is on the port cover though.

Looks like it has features from both the SAR and X95. Thin butt plate is good. I don't see backup sights.  What is the cutout above the barrel lock?
I hope it's 26 inches.

Good question, seems to run just above the charging handle.

Not feeling the aesthetic... but then again, I hated the X95 look at first and now it's one of my favorite guns so will see.

What's the over/under on it hitting the market before the MDR? Lulz.  Evil

Funny timing, I wonder if IWI also wants a piece of the US army's contest for a new 7.62x51 rifle.

OK  That (non-)buttpad is going to hurt if it is really .308.

Looks like an adjustable gas system.  Cheesy

Handguard is now the full front end. Retains the SAR/TAR shape and stop - which I like, particularly with the IDF style hold.
MLock slots built in?  Should be two rows for a light (a little higher) and tape switch (lower).

Total wild-a$$ guess, but might the port cover "block" be a quick release?  Maybe they have figured out some sort of field-swappable ejection mechanism.  As a lefty (handed - I'm "libertarian" not "liberal"  Tongue) in a righty world, that would go a long way in making it more attractive to me.

Wow! What awesome news. I'm a 5.56 guy, but I'm glad that this will be available. I may have to pick this up so I have can have a .308 bullpup for deer hunting. So glad I live in PA where they recently legalized semi-autos for hunting... Oh wait, that's right... they just decided to keep the ban on semi-autos for big game.  explode

I like how it's a total hybrid of the X95 and TAR21. The TAR has some awesome lines and a great feel overall, while the X95 has the practical improvements (removable grip, rearward charging handle, AR-style mag release). This is like the TAR21 as it always should have been. It takes all the best features of both and melds them together... into a .308! I don't like the flat buttpad though--it looks perfect on an X95, but on a TAR... it's too... 90...

I wonder what the weight is like.

Btw, anyone notice the notch for locking back the charging handle?

Another Tavor with an adjustable gas block...
I want adjustable gas blocks for the 5.56 Tavor X95.

Unsure if that is for that... it still has the bolt release by the trigger pack.

Maybe they are doing a charging handle like the ARX... which can be swapped from side to side.

On that thin buttpad, the Kel-Tec RFB .308 doesn't have much of a pad either.  I don't think .308 semiautos need it.  My AR10's and the RFB soak up the recoil with a little weight and the recoil system built in the guns.  Bolt .308's have a little smack to them, but I doubt the .308 Tavor will have much aggressive recoil.

Wild guess here, but does anyone else think the block in front of the ejection port could be a case deflector put on backwards by accident? That's most likely not right, any other guesses?
