9lbs isnt that much for a .308 AR. M110 is close to 15. The CSASS has a 12lb requirement.

That doesn't make it necessary, my build with a 20" barrel weighs 8.5 lbs without an optic (no Ti or CF). I could knock off a pound of by going to a 16" barrel, shorter handguard, and lighter stock. Over the last three years, the semi auto 308 market, has become more crowded, and more competitive.

I agree I've always thought that the MDR in grey would look awesome, the first time they revealed the MDR at Shot Show it actually looked pretty grey and I thought that that was going to be one of the original colors

I seen AR10 under 6lbs.  Start with a 2A Armament receiver set. 16oz total weight for the receiver set.

I'm betting a 6.5mm Creedmoor-chambered Desert Tech Micro Dynamic Rifle (MDR), with its factory free-floating medium-weight barrel, will deliver 3/4 MOA accuracy, with target-quality ammunition:

Ahh January where I thought a close to a 9lb .308 rifle was a little ridiculous. How naive I was. I should have known 8.7 lbs is about what a .308 platform "should" weigh.
