I recently picked up a RDB off gun broker, tried of searching. I really like this firearm and its features. Anyways, less then 10 mags into it the gun started getting stuck cases. I cleared it and it happened again and again. I decided to tear the gun apart and found that the extractor pin was gone. Either broken and fell out or just fell out. Kel tec said they'd send a new one out, so we'll see.

Also, gi mags don't work, d&h mags seem to work. You guys seen these issues?

Seen a Nut'n'fancy video where GI mags would just fall out for some reason. Even Chad from Keltec was surprised and said he has not had it with any other mags. I have tried to make my Lancer mags fail or fall out and they do not, so I can only assume it is something to do with either mag geometry or the place that the mag attaches indie the well. Either way it seems an issue.

I tried an ar15 extractor pin in the RDB it seemed to fit ok... With the mags I think it's a thickness issue. Thicker polymer mags work fine so far.

I like the RDB handling, weight and ejection, the whole design is awesome I think. I want to put some serious lead down range with it, but every range trip has been bad. First trip with only gi mags, second trip stuck case with no cleaning rod. Third trip extractor breakage. Hopefully next trip will be uneventful. Aside from these issues, the gun seems to feed well even suppressed, accuracy seems acceptable. I own most MSR's and this is the one that I'm digging the most right now.

Keltec has an unlimited lifetime warranty, as long as you are the original buyer. I would send it to them
and have them fix whatever is wrong. They should check the entire thing over.

Mine has run perfectly nice for many hundred rounds.

Range trip 4 update
I replaced the extractor pin and fired a couple hundred more rounds through without issue. I didn't notice any walking of the new pin so hopefully this issue is resolved. I will be using this rifle quite a lot so hopefully she holds up. I really dig the ergos of the RDB. My x95 is lonely cuz I always grab the RDB.

Did you fire it with the AR15 extractor pin as a repair or was it a keltec replacement?  Using an AR part may void your warranty.

If I were you, I would still try for the RDB. It's a great rifle, and it terms of all
handling and performance metrics, it exceeds my Tavor. I'm sure the X95 wouldn't
be any different.

Got my rifle back today.
Supposedly fixed the mag release, and extractor pin. Didn't replace carrier, it's still damaged. Didn't even look like they touched it as carbon is still on it. Looks like original bolt as well, although pin is more tight now. I will test it tomorrow and report back. I hope it runs.

Range report.
Still won't work with ok industries mags.

6 mags without a single issue, running drills from 50 to 300 yards. Then I set the rifle down and ran some pistol drills, grabbed the RDB and half way through the first mag, same old issue. Lost the pin again, however I found the pin in the lower receiver this time. Guess I'll call keltec tomorrow.

This should be an easy fix for keltec hopefully they will this time, I really want this rifle to run.
