Title: Considering selling my SAR
Post by: Frostburg on July 09, 2018, 04:39:08 PM
Hey everyone, I'm moving soon and was thinking about selling my SAR. I rarely shoot it when compared to my Colt 6920 and Keltec RDB. It only has a few hundred rounds through it.
It's a modified IDF model with rail put onto it, with a 16" barrel.

I also have the original cleaning kit, untouched, and accessories, and Mepro-21 sight with pyramid reticle.
I also have a Shooting sight LE trigger pack for it that I can add on to it, or sell separately.

How much could I expect to get for it?

Thanks

I've honestly seen Tavors as low as $1000 lately...but most go for $1200 in factory form...IDF models go higher.

The used firearms market right now isn't that great, I've contemplated selling a gun or two, and what they are selling for is sorta low so I haven't. Wait till election season when they say hillary will win, then prices will go up haha

Internet pricing (and comfort with buying guns sight unseen) has evened the playing field for the gun market; hard margins for selling.

Why sell something that has such good spare part pricing and intentional designed optic product support?  I counted 3 different optics and 1 tripler designed to co witness with all 3. The sar tavor has alot more going for it in terms of military pedigree then most rifles that require tax stamping do. The x95 is just a missed mark altogether with the lack of old IDF gen parts or materials to convert to the "oldschool x95".  You will pay a premium for tuning but you will get an outstanding rifle that may kill your lust for buying ar15's. Just my 10 yen  ;D

One rifle I regret selling...is my Tavor SAR.

In our market in Nevada, the SARs are going for anywhere from $1200 to $2000. The higher priced ones have, of course, just been sitting there on Armslist. The market is pretty soft for used guns right now.

not a good time to sell -- PERIOD --- but a good time to buy
