Title: Where is the Atrax?
Post by: Mnbullpup80 on September 02, 2017, 09:32:29 AM
Lithgow USA has been dead silent on this. Anxiously awaiting its arrival to the US market. Anybody have good news or recent info?

I had sent a E Mail asking if listed weights are with or without the magazine.  Here was my reply:

"The weight listed is with a magazine. We are expecting to ship by the end of September or early October."

I received this E Mail reply on Aug. 19th.

Man that is the first I've seen of this that's a awesome looking weapon. What is the damage to the wallet on this?

Is that an ambi bolt release behind the magazine well and an ambi mag release on the front of the cutlass guard? Also, can't tell if those are AR15 PMAGs or the AUS type. Anybody know?

I like the new slimmer butt stock redesign, less AUGish than the original F90/Atrax and more of it's own unique individual look. The redesign of the butt stock is most likely what is holding up the U.S. models release.

I agree--this redesign looks phenomenal. Very sci-fi/futuristic.

Crickets...winter is coming and I'm losing interest. Not sure the marketing strategy here or if there are any real plans for this rifle to hit the US market.  Should the new 7.62 tavor hit before this rifle, sorry Lithgow but you're going to the waaaaaaay back of the line.

I like what I saw in the video - I love my AUG, but the redesigned stock is the only thing that might make me excited to go with AR/NATO mags...looks very well done and maybe it will eventually kick Steyr in the ass to get off of theirs..

Guess they are going the MDR route and taking preorders (although no pre-payment) without any timeline or communication plan.  I suppose it's time to move on.

I can't figure out what your issue is. How is this any different than a "be notified when in stock" alert?

Regardless, I don't think this is the gun for you.

when lithgow first showed these back in 2013, I was hooked, but "outta sight-outta mind" so I forgot about them, But I like the look of the new slimmer butt stock and all the ambi-stuff ,AR mag release-ambi saftey,  &  ambi bolt release, its definitely gotten better looking with better ergo's, and the quick release of the barrel-bolt group is cool too, so I'm wondering about accuracy-trigger feel,& price, ....probably $2k,.....and they mentioned "OFFERED IN DIFFERENT CALIBERS....5.56 &  300 blk out,........SO HOW ABOUT 6.5 GRENDEL????,.....probably not,......I guess 6.5 grendel is just too expensive seeing how its made out of Unicorn Hooves,....maybe in a hundred years........But by then we'll be shooting M-43's/40 watt impulse rifles.,....OR Romulian Disrupters.

Here is the response to my inquiry on 12/11...

The team at Lithgow Arms USA are better to answer your question on the Atrax, I will forward your details to them. They are in the final stages of pre-production reviews and will be getting the Atrax into the USA market shortly.

Please forgive the delay in the Lithgow Arms USA team getting back to you, but they will respond as soon as they are able.

Kind regards

Never did receive a response from lithgow USA and I don't see them as registered at shot show this year.  Bummer, I was really hoping that would be our opportunity for a meaningful update.  MAC also had a live stream this week of new products in 2018 where he indicated radio silence from lithgow USA as well.

I hope I'm wrong but I think there will be no Atrax coming to the USA.

Months ago I contacted them and inquired about getting set up as a dealer for them, they were excited to have me join their sales base.

Josh was great replying and answering my questions.

Tried contacting them a few times last few weeks with no response from them.

Also they aren't listed as a vendor for the Shot Show.

I was looking forward to getting a couple of these!

Anyone else have any info?

Thanks,
Pete  :o

The people to contact I think would be DASAN - ATRAX was on display at their booth at SHOT last year, and I believe they are producing the Export version.

Dasan is just a firearms part maker.

Last communication I had with Josh was in July, he said they should start shipping in September >>>

In a message dated 7/5/2017 9:16:56 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, josh@lithgowusa.com writes:
Hi Pete,

Currently we are looking to start shipping in September. Once I have the dealer set up information I will forward it over to you.

We will be offering the 16" barrel with the AUG magazine first.

It's cool that you have already worked with Lithgow.

Josh

Ah great news! Just got an email from Josh. He said they are getting ready for Shot Show and will be there. And will have rifles by second quarter!

Below is his response>>

We are getting close but a few delays due to supplier issues. Looks like we should have rifles at the end of first quarter or early second quarter.

Will you be at SHOT? Would love to meet you and go over our rifles with you.

Best Regards,

Josh

I can't wait to get one of these, I was in on the GB for the MDR, but after years of waiting I had to throw in the towel.
This will surely put a smile back on my face.

Dasan is just a firearms part maker.

"One interesting thing Dasan showed was Thales Australia’s F90 rifle. Dasan made a contract with Thales and will soon be manufacturing this rifle, under license, in Korea. Dasan will be suggesting this rifle to Korean military, which is now considering replacement of the K1 and K2 rifles, which have been used since the early to mid-1980s and many of them now need replacement. Unlike the K1/K2 rifles, which basically are made with 1970~80s design concept, the F90 is a modern bullpup, so in terms of modernity this clearly has an edge. Nobody can be sure of how this can work with the considerably conservative ROK forces, but the very fact there’s a Korean competitor to S&T Motiv alone can be a very interesting factor in the Korean arms procurement scene."

http://www.sadefensejournal.com/wp/?p=3685 (http://www.sadefensejournal.com/wp/?p=3685)

Now, this may just be for the Korean military contract, but DASAN would be alogical partner for Thales in the US. It would also explain why the F90 is displayed at the DASAN booth, and the pitch guy doesn't have an Austrlian accent.
