Popular Bullpup's:     IWI TAVOR SAR

This week's featured Bullpup is the Tavor SAR.

This 21st century rifle, went into service for the Israelis in 2006, and has several other countries using the design throughout the world.

The semi-auto sporting version was introduced to the US in 2013, and took the market by storm, immediately winning "Rifle of the Year" by American Rifleman Magazine.

The Israeli designed Bullpup is a gas-operated, 26 1/8" OAL (with the 16.5" barrel), 5.56mm rifle, using STANAG magazines, has a 1/7 twist chrome-lined barrel, and has ejection ports on both sides of the stock.  By switching the bolt, and swapping the charging handle to the other side, it becomes an ambidextrous Bullpup.

IWI-US has announced that the SAR will be discontinued for the US market, while they focus on the Tavor X95 and introduce the Tavor7.
